Description
HO Scale H16-44 Phase III diesel locomotive in Norfolk & Western blue scheme, a faithful HO-scale reproduction of Fairbanks Morse’s 1,600-horsepower road-switcher from the 1950s. The Phase III updatesâ€â€the raised walkway and simplified hoodâ€â€and a shift to a more reliable electrical system are captured to give HO layouts an authentic centerpiece for period-accurate diesel roster-building.
Roadname-specific detailing is extensive, including hood doors and handrails, separate grab irons installed at the factory, full underbody piping and conduits, lit number boards, headlights and green-and-white class lights. It rides on prototypical Dofasco or Fairbanks Morse trucks, with Macdonald Cartier magnetic couplers installed at the correct height and fuel tanks matched to the road name. Power comes from Rapido’s drive system adapted from the FA-2, with DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) or DC/DCC/Sound options, and the dimensions are measured from the real locomotive to ensure an accurate, visually faithful addition to an N&W roster.
