Under the hood, it features a five-pole motor with precision flywheels and a multi-link drive for smooth, quiet operation, plus all-wheel drive and electrical pickup for reliable power. DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug, the locomotive includes LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons (where applicable), along with separately applied horns and scale-detail parts such as Celcon handrails and wire-form grab irons. A heavy die-cast frame delivers traction, while nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours and McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers provide authentic performance. Replacement parts are available, and the model is designed for a minimum turning radius of 18 inches with a preferred radius of 22 inches for optimal operation on most layouts.
