Introducing the HO MP15AC Locomotive with DCC and Sound in Union Pacific livery, road number 1488. This HO-scale model reproduces EMD’s MP15AC light road switcher, including the AC-drive upgrade that distinguished it from DC designs. Road number 1488 is depicted with UP markings reflecting its history as an Ex-EMD Demo unit, delivering distinctive detail and alignment with UP’s color scheme.
Inside, a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder drives authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds through two speakers, with full DCC functionality and NMRA compatibility. The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM and designed for HO layouts with a minimum radius of 18 inches. It features a heavy die-cast frame for traction, all-wheel drive and electrical pickup, plus a full cab interior, see-through cab windows, and UP-specific detailing that enhance realism on the layout.
