Description
Maine Central GP40-2L Locomotive with DCC & Sound in Harvest Gold livery, MEC 270, is an HO-scale diesel built for authentic freight operations on modern layouts. The model includes a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder and dual speakers to reproduce engine, horn, and bell sounds, and it runs on both DC and DCC with full function control. A Quick Plug 21-pin NEM interface makes installation straightforward, while prototype detailing such as Blomberg-M trucks, see-through cab interior, lit number boards, and operating ditch lights adds a compelling level of realism on the layout.
Designed for steady, prototypical performance on HO tracks, it features a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, a heavy die-cast frame for traction, and all-wheel electrical pickup for smooth operation. RP25 wheel contours ensure compatibility with popular brands, and body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) support easy MUing. The model showcases fine detailsâ€â€etched fan grilles, scale handrails, LED lighting, and a lit cabâ€â€and, as part of the Legendary Liveries line, presents a distinctive Maine Central Harvest Gold finish. It’s also primed for grime, offering a ready starting point for weathering to resemble an in-service locomotive.
