Description
An HO-scale Union Pacific SD90MAC-H Phase I locomotive modeled as UP 8509, designed for authentic operation on HO-layouts and to add late-1990s UP power to a model railroad.
This HO-scale model represents the second and third orders of Phase I SD90MAC-Hs delivered between 1997 and 1999, prior to their renumbering to the 8900 series. It captures prototype details such as the removal of the starter capacitor and an End-of-Train device mounted farther forward on the fuel tank for units like 8509, 8512, and 8520.
