Description
HO-scale F89-F 89’8″ TOFC flatcar in TTX/Brown livery recreates the classic intermodal workhorse from the 1960s. The model captures the long flatcar’s distinctive profile with a die-cast underframe, a detailed injection-molded deck, and the characteristic C-channel side sills. Raised and lowered hitches reflect loading variations, and the decorated shell is ready to run right out of the box for intermodal or mixed-freight trains on an HO layout.
Key details include 70-ton roller bearing trucks with spinning bearing caps, wire-formed brake plumbing, and separately applied brake components such as ratchets, grab irons and ladders. The car rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, all supported by a heavy die-cast frame for stable operation. Weighing for optimum performance, it’s suitable for HO layouts with a minimum 22″ radius (24″ or larger recommended), bringing authentic intermodal capability to modern-era scenes.
