HO EMD GP38 Locomotive with DCC and Sound in Baltimore & Ohio livery, number 3824, is a highly detailed HO-scale model built to faithfully reproduce EMD’s classic four-axle GP38. It’s designed for realistic operation on standard HO layouts, combining authentic road-specific styling with onboard sound and DCC compatibility.
Road-specific detailing includes separately applied grab irons and handrails, see-through etched steps, and road-appropriate fuel tanks and battery box doors. The model also features a highly detailed underframe with traction motor cables, air filters, and other carefully added parts, along with active lighting such as headlights, rear lights, tri-color class lights, ditch lights and beacons where required. A meticulously rendered cab interior rounds out the realism. It can run on DC or be driven via DCC with 21-pin DCC-ready or LokSound sound options, giving hobbyists flexible power and control choices.
