Description
This HO-scale H16-44 CP Rail Action Red locomotive is a detailed model of Fairbanks Morse’s classic H16-44 diesel, designed to bring authentic CP Rail power to HO layouts. The Phase III design updates and CP red livery deliver a faithful representation of the era’s locomotives for CP fans and Canadian railroading scenes.
Inside, the model is loaded with roadname-specific details such as hood doors and handrails, separate grab irons installed at the factory, and full underbody piping. It features lit number boards, headlights, and green-and-white class lights, and is offered in DC, DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready), or DC/DCC/Sound configurations. Prototypical trucks (Dofasco or Fairbanks Morse) with options for steam generators and different fuel tanks depending on the road name are included, while the drive system uses Rapido’s proven design adapted from the FA-2 and Macdonald Cartier magnetic couplers sit at the correct height for reliable, prototypical operation.
