GE 44-Tonner Switcher Locomotive with DCC & Sound in NH Warm Orange is an HO-scale model of the General Electric 44-tonner diesel switcher, designed for light yard switching, industrial and shop service, and available with DCC and sound for an authentic operating experience.
The model features a heavy die-cast chassis and fuel tank for weight and stability, plus two styles of fuel tank skirting and a host of fine details such as a full cab interior, photo-etched cab steps, and separately-applied door latches. It captures multiple Phase variationsâ€â€including Phase Ic with or without lighted hood side number boards, Phase III with positionable top hood hatches, and Phase IVâ€â€so you can model different eras. A smooth coreless motor with dual flywheels delivers reliable running, while power options include DC models that are DCC-ready with NEXT-18 sockets and speakers, and DCC models that are sound-equipped with ESU decoders and built-in sounds, complemented by a Mo-Power power capacitor for steady operation.
