Description
HO scale GE 44-ton diesel switcher locomotive with DCC & Sound in Southern Railway Tuxedo livery, 1953. This compact diesel is designed for light switching and industrial work, reproducing the classic 44-tonner used on yards and industrial tracks across North America in the 1940s to 1950s.
Features include a heavy die-cast chassis and fuel tank for rugged, stable operation, plus true-to-life detailing such as two fuel-tank skirt styles and separately-applied door latches. The model includes a full cab interior and photo-etched cab steps for realism. It runs on DC power and is DCC-ready with a NEXT-18 decoder socket and speakers, while the DCC-equipped version adds ESU decoders and sounds and a Mo-Power capacitor. Multiple Phases and variations are represented (Phase Ic with or without lighted hood-side number boards, Phase III with positionable top hood hatches, Phase IV), giving enthusiasts a faithful range of 44-tonner configurations.
