Description
HO-Scale ATSF Blue Goose Locomotive No. 3460  a meticulously detailed HO model of Santa Fe’s iconic Blue Goose, accurately reflecting its 1938 appearance and later variants. Handcrafted brass boiler, cab, and tender bodies ride on a heavy die-cast chassis for authentic heft, while a Paragon4 Sound and Control System delivers synchronized puffing smoke and era-appropriate steam sounds, with the GoPack capacitors ensuring reliable DC and DCC operation. A built-in DCC decoder with Back EMF enables exceptionally smooth slow-speed running on a layout, making it a standout centerpiece for Santa Fe layouts.
Engineered for prototypical operation, the Blue Goose features a 5-pole can motor with a skew-wound armature, rubber traction tires for added pulling power, and a drive system tuned for heavy loads and steady slow speeds. It includes prototypical lighting with independently controllable headlight, number-board lights, cab light, tender deck light, and rear emergency light, plus factory-installed engineer and fireman figures and a wealth of finely detailed components such as handrails, ladders, piping, cab glass, brass bell, and markers. Suitable for 18-inch minimum-radius curves and accurate ATSF Class 3460 sounds, this model captures the distinctive look and performance across its service life.
