Description
HO-scale 50-foot Pullman Standard box car in NDEM markings, capturing the mid-1970s era when per diem cars proliferated on North American rails. This highly detailed model features a single 10′ Pullman Standard door, separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etch cross-over platform. It rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, is weighted for smooth tracking, and uses body-mounted McHenry scale-knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and a minimum 18-inch radius ensures reliable operation on typical hobby layouts.
Primed for grime-modeling, this car presents an authentic in-service appearance with faded base colors matched to the prototype and a ready starting point for adding grime and rust. The design reflects the era’s 50′ outside-post PS box cars, which varied door configurations to suit different customers and liveriesâ€â€a detail that helps recreate accurate yard and interchange scenes on modern layouts.
