HO FP7A Locomotive AMTK 118 is a highly detailed HO-scale model of General Motors’ EMD FP7A diesel, finished in Amtrak markings with road number 118. It’s designed to bring a classic FP7A into modern layouts with prototype-accurate detailing, including see-through cab windows and a full cab interior, separately applied metal parts, LED lighting, and AMTK refinements that give a lifelike presence on passenger or mixed-traffic consists.
Built for performance as well as appearance, the model features a heavy die-cast frame for traction, RP25-profile wheels, and reliable all-wheel pickup. It is DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play via a 21-pin NEM connector, and many versions include onboard DCC decoding with Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers that operate on both DC and DCC layouts. Road-number 118 carries Amtrak-specific styling and prototype details, with a minimum curve radius of 18 inches and 22 inches recommended for best operation on typical home layouts.
