Description
Norfolk Southern-liveried EMD GP40 diesel locomotive in large scale (1:29), numbered 3057, is a faithful representation of EMD’s four-axle road switcher designed for model railroading. It uses a non-proprietary plug-and-play circuit board that accepts conventional DC power, NMRA/NEM DCC, or RC control, making it easy to fit into a wide range of layouts and control setups.
Beyond its authentic exterior, the model features a diesel smoke unit, white LED headlights, lighted front number boards, interior cab lighting and detailing, solid-metal railings and lift rings, opening side windows, windshield wipers, MU hoses, and operating AAR knuckle couplers. A factory-installed speaker with a wire pigtail enables straightforward addition of aftermarket sound, enhancing NS-era operation and realism on large-scale layouts.
