Description
HO-scale Southern Railway Pullman Standard 50-foot box car, featuring authentic Southern markings, is designed to bring realistic freight traffic to HO layouts. Recreating the classic PS design with a single 10-foot door, this model offers a faithful silhouette and period-appropriate decoration for prototypical interchange and yard operations.
Details include separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etch cross-over platform. It rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and uses body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers for reliable operation. The injection-molded, highly detailed body is painted and printed for lifelike decoration, and the car is weighted for stable performance on layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius. Reflecting the mid-1970s era when per diem boxcars were common, this model adds credible, era-appropriate character to modern railroading scenes.
