Description
This HO scale 50-foot Superior Plug Box Car is a detailed model of a late-1960s Fruit Growers Express design, created for realistic HO-scale freight operation. It represents an insulated boxcar with plug doors, offering a practical and convincing centerpiece for everyday freight scenes on an HO layout.
The model emphasizes realism and performance with separately applied brake wheel and ladders, 70-ton roller bearing trucks, and 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, all weighted for optimum performance. It features body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and a highly detailed injection-molded body painted and printed to reflect prototypical schemes. With a minimum radius of 18 inches, this car is designed to roll smoothly on standard HO track and integrate seamlessly into a wide range of freight consists.
