Description
This HO-scale SW1500 locomotive in Frisco livery, numbered 329, is a detailed model of the EMD SW1500 diesel switcher, designed for HO-scale layouts to recreate light-branch-line and industrial switching on a model railroad.
Prototype-accurate detailing includes operating ground lights, footboards on both ends, a detailed cab interior, drop steps, MU stands, dual exhaust stacks, printed numberboards, and fine-scale handrails with see-through radiator grille and cab windows. Front and rear trainline hoses with silver glad hands, separately applied grab irons, and McHenry scale knuckles (Kadee-compatible) add to the realism. The model runs on all-wheel drive with a precision 5-pole skew-wound motor and all-wheel electrical pickup for smooth, quiet operation, with RP25-contoured wheels for reliable tracking on HO track. It is available in DCC-ready form with a 21-pin NEM connector, and sound-equipped versions include a DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Economi sound and a single cube speaker (some functions may be limited in DC). LED lighting provides long life, and an 18-inch minimum radius keeps operation reliable on common layouts. New features include operating ground lights and a more powerful, quieter can motor.
