Description
HO Scale H16-44 Phase III CPR Block Scheme locomotive is a detailed HO model of Fairbanks Morse’s 1600 HP hood-unit from the 1950s and early 1960s. This release captures Canadian Pacific’s distinctive livery and is designed for realistic operation on HO layouts with DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) or DC/DCC/Sound configurations.
Loaded with road-name–specific detailingâ€â€hood doors and handrails, factory-installed grab irons, and both Dynamic and Non-Dynamic carbodiesâ€â€this model includes full underbody piping and conduits, lit number boards, headlights, and green-and-white class lights. Prototypical trucks (Dofasco or Fairbanks Morse), steam generators where appropriate, and varying fuel tanks by road name add authenticity. The drive system is Rapido’s proven design, adapted from the FA-2, with Macdonald Cartier magnetic couplers installed at the correct height for reliable, close-coupled operation. This HO H16-44 Phase III locomotive is a standout for CPR-era scenes on any HO layout.
