Description
The HO PCF B70 Boxcar SSW/Cotton Belt 2 is a meticulously detailed representation of the Pacific Car & Foundry’s B-70 boxcar, which was constructed between 1972 and 1975. This model, built for the Southern Pacific and St. Louis Southwestern, features a 50′ 7″ length and a generous capacity of up to 5258 cubic feet. Designed to accommodate both standard freight and Damage Free loading, this boxcar set a new standard for freight transport, proving itself as a versatile asset on the railways of the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Authentic to the original design, the model includes separately applied metal grab irons, a detailed Hydra-Cushion underframe, and full underbody brake rigging. The road number-specific patches and various door styles enhance the authenticity of this model, while the factory-installed Rapido semi-scale knuckle couplers ensure reliable connectivity. With newly tooled 70T trucks and turned metal 33″ wheels, the B70 boxcar brings a blend of historical significance and modern detailing to any HO scale collection.
