HO-scale GP9 Locomotive CG 160 is a detailed, ready-to-run replica of EMD’s GP9 switcher, designed to bring authentic mid-20th-century power to HO scale layouts. For CG 160, the model recreates the road-number specific features of the first order, including a larger fuel tank and rearward side fuel fillers, and it includes a full cab interior and see-through cab windows for a true-scale look.
Built for real-world operation on HO layouts, the GP9 uses a heavy die-cast frame with Blomberg-B trucks and all-wheel electrical pickup to deliver steady pulling power and smooth, quiet operation. It rides on RP25-contoured wheels that work with most brands of track and features bidirectional LED lighting that keeps headlight brightness constant. The model is offered in DCC-ready form with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector, and sound-equipped variants include an onboard DCC decoder with Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers. Authentic detailing runs throughout, from etched radiator and fan grilles to Celcon handrails and a full cab interior, with a detailed fuel tank and fillers for added realism. Minimum radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for reliable running, and the model arrives fully assembled and ready to run.
