Description
This HO-scale Santa Fe GP7 Locomotive, road number 2698, faithfully recreates a classic EMD switcher from the GP7 era, making it ideal for Santa Fe-era yard and switching scenes on HO layouts. It carries era-appropriate details such as early Leslie dual “Blatt†horns, two Santa Fe lettering styles, canvas sunshades, and spark arrestors included to match the period. The model features a see‑through cab with a full interior, LED lighting for realistic operation, and a heavy die-cast frame for traction, plus a DCC-ready Quick Plug system and a 21-pin NEM connector for easy digital control.
Road-number 2698 is depicted as a late pre-rebuild example with non-dynamic brakes, a faded finish, removed footboards, and a Can antenna mounted on the cab’s right side. The GP7 series details include scale handrails, etched radiator and fan grilles, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee, all supported by RP25-wheel contours for smooth operation on most layouts with a minimum 18-inch radius. Sound-equipped variants feature an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, dual speakers, and full DCC functionality, with engine, horn, and bell sounds operable in both DC and DCC modes.
