Description
HO GP40-2 Locomotive in CSXT Boxcar Logo livery, road number 6237, is a high-detail HO-scale model designed to bring authentic CSX power to a layout. Recreating the GP40-2’s 16-cylinder turbocharged 3,000-horsepower engine and the dash-2 modular electrical cabinet, it captures a versatile freight locomotive that powered mainline freights, locals, yard work, and helper service since the early 1970s.
On the layout, this model features a DCC-ready Quick Plug system with a 21-pin NEM connector, LED lighting, see-through cab windows with a detailed interior, and a heavy die-cast frame for added realism and traction. The road-number 6237 variant carries CSX-specific detailing such as lit number boards, a side hood-mounted bell, and alternately flashing ditch lights; the Ex-BO 4338 heritage is represented with a removed front plow, electronic nose brake, Blomberg B trucks, and RV-style A/C. Some versions are sound-equipped with a SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder and dual speakers for engine and horn realism, while artwork faithfully reproduces the CSX Boxcar Logo scheme and prototype details.
