Description
HO-scale GE 44-Tonner Switcher Locomotive with DCC & Sound is a compact diesel switcher designed for light yard work and industrial service on HO layouts. These small but capable 44-tonners were built for crew-efficient operation between 1940 and 1956, and this model captures that practical heritage with authentic detailing and options for DCC and sound to bring on-layout switching to life.
Constructed around a heavy die-cast chassis and fuel tank, the locomotive features a full cab interior, photo-etched cab steps, and separately-applied door latches, with two styles of fuel tank skirting for added realism. It offers multiple phase variationsâ€â€Phase Ic with or without lighted hood side number boards, Phase III with positionable top hood hatches, and Phase IVâ€â€reflecting the real range of 44-tonners built from 1940 to 1956. DC models are DCC-ready with a NEXT-18 decoder socket and space for a speaker; DCC-equipped versions include ESU decoders and sounds and a Mo-Power power capacitor for reliable operation. This HO-scale switcher is ideal for authentic industrial switching on your layout, delivering compact, lifelike performance and sound.
