Description
HO-scale GE 44-Ton Switcher Locomotive with DCC & Sound, PRR 9333. This HO-scale diesel shunter reproduces the compact 44-tonner designed for light switching and industrial service. Finished in Pennsylvania Railroad livery with road number 9333, the model captures the locomotive’s proportions and detailing, including multiple production phasesâ€â€Ic, Phase III, and Phase IV. It rides on a heavy die-cast chassis with a realistic fuel tank and skirt styling, delivering a sturdy, authentic presence in yards, shops, and shortline trackage.
Inside and out, the model emphasizes realism: a full cab interior, photo-etched cab steps, and separately applied door latches. Phase Ic variants offer lighted or unlit hood-side number boards, while Phase III features positionable top-hood hatches. The drivetrain uses a smooth coreless motor with dual flywheels for reliable operation. DC versions are DCC-ready with a NEXT-18 decoder socket and speakers; DCC versions include ESU sound decoders and a Mo-Power capacitor to maintain performance on layouts with varying power. This combination yields a capable yard switcher that pairs authentic appearance with dependable operation and engaging sound for realistic prototyping.
