Description
Experience a faithful HO-scale EMD SD45 locomotive in Pennsylvania Railroad Brunswick Green, road number 6146, designed for realistic operation on model railroads. This model captures the presence of a heavyweight freight hauler from the era, drawing on EMD’s 645E3 20‑cylinder engine that delivered about 3,600 horsepower in the prototype.
Part of the Stealth Series, the model is DCC-ready and ships without sound. Out of the box, front and rear lights are directional, while other lights illuminate with the track power. An 8‑ohm speaker is installed to simplify adding a sound decoder later. The drive is engineered for heavy pulling and smooth slow-speed operation, with all‑wheel electrical pickup and a die‑cast chassis inside an ABS body for maximum traction. It features premium painting, prototypical road numbers, and extensive separately applied detailing such as handrails, grab irons, horn, bell, wipers, and etched grills. Metal Kadee-compatible couplers are included, and the locomotive will operate on Code 70, Code 83, and Code 100 rail with a minimum 18-inch operating radius.
