Description
This HO-scale EMD GP40 diesel locomotive, finished in BNSF Heritage I, is designed for model railroaders who want a versatile, ready-to-run engine for yards, industrial trackage, and light road service. The GP40 replaced the GP35 and became a staple across North America thanks to its standardized components and easy maintenance, and this model brings that practical heritage to life with a dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder for precise speed, direction, and lighting control on NMRA-compliant DCC systems.
Crafted with a die-cast frame and a precision motor, the locomotive features separately applied handrails and horn details, see-through trucks with detailed sideframes, and blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours for a realistic look. It includes directional headlights, clear cab windows, and all-wheel drive for dependable operation, along with magnetically operated E-Z Mate II couplers on front and rear for easy coupling. Measuring about 8.5 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and 2 inches tall, it performs best on 18-inch radius curves or larger.
