HO BiLevel Commuter Car Rail Runner Set is an HO-scale model of a bilevel commuter car designed to bring authentic North American railroading to a layout. This set captures the distinctive bilevel design used by agencies across Canada and the United States since the 1970s, delivering museum-quality detail and prototypical accuracy for a convincing, operating representation of this popular form of commuter transportation.
Designed for smooth operation on typical layouts, the set features accurate body shells with rivet detail, a lower level with five windows or four windows as appropriate, tinted windows, metal side grab irons, and full underbody and interior detail. It rides on free-rolling, inside-bearing trucks with roller-bearing axles and metal wheelsets, supports minimum 22″ radius curves, and includes interior lighting in both DC and DCC. Cab cars are pre-wired with a speaker and 21-pin socket for full DCC/sound functionality, while constant interior lighting and controllable cab lighting enhance realism on layouts that use DC or DCC power.
