Description
HO-scale GE AC4400CW Diesel Locomotive in CSXT Dark Future 72. This fully assembled, ready-to-run model from Athearn captures the distinctive look of a modern freight locomotive and is a standout addition to any HO layout, offered as part of the Legendary Liveries program for a striking, prototypical finish.
It features illuminated ditch lights, see-through cab windows, factory sunshades, and finely detailed touches such as separately applied grab irons and fine-scale handrails. The locomotive rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a 5-pole motor and flywheels for smooth operation, plus all-wheel electrical pickup. It’s DCC-ready with Quick Plug plug-and-play technology and a 21-pin NEM connector, and it includes McHenry operating-scale knuckle couplers, a 5,000-gallon fuel tank, and RP25 wheel contours for reliable tracking on standard HO track. Designed for HO layouts, it’s recommended for a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches preferred) to ensure best performance and appearance.
