Description
This HO-scale 60-foot Pullman Common Standard Postal Car is a faithful reproduction of the Harriman-era mail car designed to speed mail handling on early 20th-century railroads. The model captures both exterior and interior realism, featuring arched roof panels with rivet detailing, roof vents, and a mail slot on each side, along with interior pigeon-hole cases, pouch racks, bins and sorting tables that mirror the prototype’s workflow. It’s designed to sit in mail-train consists or alongside era-appropriate equipment for authentic timetable-era scenes.
On the rails, the car offers dependable HO-scale performance and precise detail: six-wheel trucks, scale knuckle-spring couplers, and weight balanced for smooth running on common HO curves. A magnetically removable roof provides easy access to the detailed interior, and there are two underframe variants that replicate prototype differencesâ€â€an As-Built version with gas tanks and a Modernized version with a battery box. These features, along with interior detail and exterior styling, make the model ideal for dioramas, mail-train sequences, and realistic period scenes on HO layouts.
