Description
This HO-scale 60-foot Pullman Common Standard baggage car models Union Pacific numbers 1162 and 1165 from the early steel-era of passenger service. It’s a detailed, prototypical addition for HO layouts, ideal for creating period-accurate trains that include baggage handling beside passenger cars.
The model captures a wide range of authentic features, including arched roof panels with rivets, Pintsch gas vents, roof vents, a stove smokestack, drip strips over doors, and formed grabs with ladder rests, plus a magnetically detachable roof for easy access to the interior. It can be configured to reflect prototype variations with wooden doors or ply-metal doors and offers two underframe stylesâ€â€an as-built version with toolbox and gas tanks, or a modernized version with a battery box. Additional details like end diaphragms, stirrup steps, brake gear, an air tank, and HO-scale McHenry knuckle-spring couplers are included, with the body weighted for stable running on HO curves (minimum radius of 18 inches).
