Description
HO-scale 60-foot Gunderson high-cube double-door box car  an HO model from Athearn that faithfully reproduces a Gunderson-built boxcar for modern freight layouts. This versatile model is designed to haul a wide range of loads, from auto parts to forest products, and offers paint schemes that closely resemble Trenton or Greenbrier-style cars for realistic on-layout presentation.
Features include separately applied wire grab irons and etched end platforms, body-mounted McHenry scale-knuckle couplers, and razor-sharp painting and printing. The car is weighted for smooth operation and rides on 36-inch metal wheels with RP25 contours. It accommodates minimum 18-inch radius curves, with 22 inches recommended for best performance. Primed for grime models, it mimics an in-service look with faded base colors, making it an ideal starting point for weathering and adding grime and rust.
