Description
An HO-scale Gunderson 60-foot Boxcar, TBOX configuration, designed for authentic operation on HO layouts. It models the modern Gunderson-built boxcar used in today’s freight networks and is ideal for prototyping runs or building a realistic roster, capable of carrying a wide range of loadsâ€â€from auto parts to forest products.
Detailing includes separately applied wire grab irons and etched end platforms, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and razor-sharp painting and printing for crisp lettering. The model is weighted for stable running and rides on 36-inch metal wheels with RP25 contours, with a minimum radius of 18 inches and a recommended radius of 22 inches for best performance. Legendary Liveries offer popular railroad paint schemes to diversify a collection, and prototype history notes that the modern 60-foot boxcar is a staple of contemporary freight trains; this Gunderson-built model is represented with close stand-ins for similar Trenton/Greenbrier-built cars.
