This HO-scale 60-foot Gunderson Boxcar SSW is a detailed, modern freight replica designed for realistic operation on HO layouts. It captures the look of Gunderson-built boxcars and is offered in Legendary Liveries  an exclusive Athearn paint program featuring popular and alternate railroad schemes to enrich any roster.
Key features include separately applied wire grab irons and etched end platforms, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, razor-sharp painting and printing, and a weighted chassis for smooth, reliable running. The model rides on 36-inch metal wheels with RP25 contours and is sized for tight HO curves, with a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended). Prototype-wise, it’s based on the modern 100-ton, high-cube 60-foot boxcar used for a wide range of loads, and reflects Gunderson-built construction, with similar Trenton/Greenbrier-built cars offered as stand-in variants.
