Description
An HO-scale 52-foot wheel flatcar with wheel load that reproduces a specialized piece of maintenance-era equipment used to transport new wheel sets to rail yards and shops from the 1950s through the early 2000s. Prototypes were modified from earlier general-use flatcars, and this model carries Pennsylvania Railroad livery for an authentic PRR scene.
Key details include a newly tooled wheel transport rack and a removable plastic wheel load, blackened machined metal running wheels with RP25 contours, and a precisely painted body with sharp graphics. The model uses magnetically operated E-Z Mate Mark II couplers for smooth coupling, and it wears an authentic oxide-brown finish that enhances realism on mid-century yard layouts and PRR fleets.
