Description
An HO-scale Bethlehem Steel three-bay hopper car, designed for realistic operation on HO model railroad layouts. The model faithfully reproduces the Bethlehem Steel design and is painted in the Pennsylvania Power & Light livery as car number 281, making it a convincing addition to era-appropriate freight trains.
Its authentic detailing includes separately applied air tanks, brake gear, and bracing parts, plus a removable coal or stone load and interior wall braces for a realistic empty-car appearance (assembly required). Detailed trucks with see-through sideframes ride on a finely crafted chassis and underbody, while magnetically operated E-Z Mate Mark II couplers and blackened RP25 wheels ensure smooth, reliable operation. The painted body carries precision graphics atop a well-rendered shell, with optional modeler-installed weights included to improve tracking. Car measurements run about 7 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 1.8 inches high, and the retail packaging measures approximately 10 by 1.7 by 3.5 inches.
