This is a Broadway Limited 687 HO Scale Southern Pacific “Morning Daylight” Tavern Car 10314. This 1941 pre-war version features skirted cars, lettered “Southern Pacific Lines,” and beautifully detailed, accurate passenger cars. The model showcases authentic design with correct paint and color schemes, along with many separately applied details including handrails. Interiors are properly colored and fully illuminated, while exterior lighting functions where applicable. Additional features include prototypically accurate articulated cars, antennas, and operating full-width sprung diaphragms.
This car is designed to pair seamlessly with PCM SP GS-4 locomotives and PCM Alco PA/PB locomotives. The observation car includes a lighted drumhead and marker lights, adding further realism. Both the body and chassis are constructed of durable ABS material, and the car is equipped with two Kadee-compatible operating metal knuckle couplers. It is compatible with Code 70, 83, and 100 rail tracks, and has a recommended minimum radius of 22″.
