Description
HO-scale GP50 Locomotive in ATSF Santa Fe colors, road number 3849  a ready-to-run HO model from Athearn. This four-axle diesel faithfully recreates the EMD GP50 and arrives in a Legendary Liveries finish, giving Santa Fe fans a striking centerpiece for prototypical layouts or proto-freelance storytelling on the railroad.
Designed for realistic operation, it features LED headlights, ditch lights, and see-through cab windows, plus DCC-ready support via a 21-pin NEM plug. The model rides on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive and precise gearing for smooth, quiet pulling power, powered by a 5-pole motor with flywheels and a multi-link drive. Details include factory-installed Celcon handrails and individually applied wire grab irons, separately-applied horns, McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours. Fully assembled and painted, it arrives ready to run on HO layouts with an 18″ minimum radius (22″ recommended).
