Description
This HO-scale 50-foot insulated plug-door box car in WPRX markings is a detailed model designed to add realism to a modern-era freight layout. Based on a late-1960s Fruit Growers Express design, this car features a temperature-controlled insulated body and wide plug-style doors that help seal out the elements while simplifying loading and unloading.
The model rides on 70-ton roller bearing trucks with 33-inch machined metal wheels in RP25 contours and is weighted for smooth, reliable operation. It uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and includes a separately applied brake wheel and ladders, with a highly detailed injection-molded body finished in prototype-accurate paint schemes. A minimum 18-inch radius is recommended for best performance on most layouts.
