Description
Introducing the HO Scale H16-44 Locomotive in PC Black schemeâ€â€a detailed HO-model designed for serious model railroaders. This Phase III version recreates Fairbanks Morse’s 1600-horsepower hood-unit from the 1950s and 1960s, delivering authentic proportions and road-name specific detailing that make it a realistic centerpiece for layouts or displays.
Road-name specific details include hood doors and handrails with factory-installed grab irons, plus options for dynamic or non-dynamic carbody configurations. The model features full underbody piping and conduits, lit number boards, headlights, and green-and-white class lights. Power options include DC/Silent (21-pin DCC Ready) or DC/DCC/Sound, with accurate dimensions, prototypical Dofasco or Fairbanks Morse trucks, steam generators where applicable, and fuel-tank variations by road name. The drive system is Rapido’s proven design, adapted from the FA-2, while Macdonald-Cartier magnetic couplers sit at the correct height for reliable operation. Dimensions are measured from the real locomotive to ensure a faithful, immersive representation on HO layouts.
