HO scale F40PHM-2 Locomotive in Metra Fade is a detailed model crafted for DC operation on model railroad layouts. Recreating Metra’s iconic commuter diesel in a faded finish, it captures the distinctive Winnebago-style front and the look these units carried on Chicago-area service for decades.
Inside and out, the model is richly detailed: dual rooftop air conditioners, etched radiator grills, and a full cab interior. It features working headlights, marker and backup lights, a Gyralite (with Stratolite or strobe lighting where appropriate), ditch lights, and factory-applied wire grab irons. See-through underbody piping, PTC antenna arrays, and an accurate fuel-tank profile with exhaust silencer add to realism.
