Description
The HO Amtrak NPCU Cabbage is a remarkable model that pays tribute to Amtrak’s innovative approach to train operation. Built from retired F40PH locomotives, these Non-Powered Control Units (NPCUs) have transformed the way trains are managed. The NPCU features a design that allows for push-pull service, eliminating the need to turn trains at terminals. The engineers operate locomotives directly from the cab of the NPCU, similar to cab cars used in commuter services.
This specific model showcases the Amtrak Veterans design and includes road numbers 90208 and 90221, which are newly released to the market. The NPCUs are prevalent across various regions, from California to the East Coast, with a majority still operational today.
