Description
The HO Amtrak NPCU Cabbage is a meticulously designed model based on Amtrak’s Non-Powered Control Units (NPCUs), particularly in the Silent Amtrak Phase 3 scheme. Initially built from retired F40PH locomotives, these NPCUs have been repurposed to serve crucial roles in push-pull train operations, allowing trains to operate efficiently without needing to turn at terminals. Featuring highly detailed construction, the model boasts functioning marker lights and strobe lights alongside a refined drive system driven by Rapido’s advanced 5-pole motor for smooth operation.
This model’s design includes separate handrails, grab irons, and etched-metal radiator grilles, ensuring an authentic appearance. It also features operating flashing ditch lights and is equipped with DCC-ready capabilities, making it compatible with modern control systems. With its exemplary craftsmanship, this model is perfect for both collectors and model train enthusiasts looking to enhance their layouts.
