Description
An HO-scale PRR S1 duplex locomotive in the Stealth Series, this No-Sound / DCC-Ready model reproduces the Pennsylvania Railroad’s iconic 6-4-4-6 duplex in a Raymond Loewy–designed streamlined shell. It runs on DC out of the box and includes an 8-ohm speaker to ease adding a DCC sound decoder later; front and rear headlights are directional, while other lights illuminate with track power.
Built for realism, the model combines handcrafted brass boiler, cab, and tender bodies with a heavy die-cast chassis for authentic heft and pulling power. A five-pole motor with a skew-wound armature delivers smooth slow-speed operation, and rubber traction tires boost traction. The lighting is prototypical with independently controllable headlights, rear light, cab light, rear markers, and number boards, while factory-installed engineer and fireman figures accompany a wealth of fine detailsâ€â€handrails, grab irons, ladders, piping, cab glass, whistle, and brass bellâ€â€plus two spare flanged drivers to enhance the prototype appearance.
