Description
An HO-scale Class D Shay locomotive in Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) livery, numbered 7. This four-truck geared steam locomotive captures the rugged power of the logging era, delivering strong tractive effort and reliable adhesion for pulling heavy loads on challenging grades and tight curves on a model railroad.
Equipped with Paragon 4 Sound and Control System, an operating smoke unit, integral GoPack capacitors, and an integrated DCC decoder with Back EMF for smooth slow-speed operation in both DC and DCC, the model uses a heavy die-cast boiler, tender body, and chassis to boost traction. A 5-pole can motor with skew-wound armature powers precise, steady performance, while rubber traction tires enhance pulling power. Prototypical sounds, separately controllable lighting (headlight, reverse light, and cab light), plus factory-installed engineer and fireman figures and a wealth of finely applied detailsâ€â€handrails, ladders, conduit, generators, whistle, horn, and brass bellâ€â€complete the presentation. Premium painting with authentic schemes complements the look, and a 22-inch minimum radius helps ensure smooth operation on typical HO layouts.
