HO-scale PRR S1 Duplex Locomotive with Paragon4 Sound is a faithful recreation of the Pennsylvania Railroad’s iconic six-axle 6-4-4-6 duplex, captured in a Loewy-designed streamlined shell for HO layouts. This DC/DCC-compatible model includes Paragon4 sound and a pre-installed 8-ohm speaker for straightforward sound integration, with directional headlights at the front and rear and other lights that stay lit with track power to mirror the prototype’s glow as trains roll by.
Built for scale fidelity and steady performance, it features handcrafted brass boiler, cab, and tender bodies mounted to a heavy die-cast chassis for strength and traction, plus rubber traction tires for reliable pulling power. A precision drive system with a multi-pole motor delivers smooth, controlled operation at a range of speeds. The model also ships with engineer and fireman figures and a wealth of separately applied detailsâ€â€handrails, ladders, piping, cab glass, a whistle, and a brass bellâ€â€and includes two spare flanged drivers for an extra prototypical look on an HO layout.
