HO-scale Athearn SW1500 switcher locomotive with DCC and sound is designed for authentic yard and industrial switching on HO layouts. It blends a compact, hardworking diesel switcher with realistic lighting and onboard sound to bring busy industrial operations to life.
Powered by a refined five-pole motor with all-wheel drive for smooth, quiet operation, the model includes a DCC-ready Quick Plug interface with a 21-pin NMRA connector and an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami sound (single speaker). It runs on DC and DCC, delivers excellent low-speed performance, and supports MU lashups for coordinated operation. Features such as LED lighting with ground lights, a detailed injection-molded body, and Kadee-compatible couplers add realism and reliability, with an 18-inch minimum radius to ensure smooth running on common HO layouts.
