Description
An HO-scale Athearn SW1500 switcher locomotive, IHB 1515, built for industrial switching on model railroads. This ready-to-run model features a DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Econami sound for authentic engine, horn, and bell effects, and can operate on both DC and DCC layouts with a plug‑and‑play 21-pin NEM interface for simple, reliable installation.
Detailing mirrors the prototype with Flexicoil trucks, a large fuel tank, frame-mounted handrails, a snowplow, Sinclair antenna, MU hoses and a 3-chime horn. LED lighting, see-through radiator grilles and cab windows, and separately applied grab irons add realism, while McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), RP25 wheels, and an 18-inch minimum radius support smooth operation on common HO layouts. A high-torque 5-pole motor with all-wheel drive delivers steady, quiet performance at low speeds for effective industrial switching and short-haul work.
