Description
HO-scale EMD SW1500 switcher locomotive in Great Northern livery (GN 202). This four-axle diesel is designed for yard work and industrial switching on modern model railroads, delivering the compact silhouette with dual exhaust stacks and realistic detailing. It features LED lighting, a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, fine-scale handrails, and a DCC-ready Quick Plug 21-pin interface. The model is offered in Legendary Liveries, a lineup of popular and alternate paint schemes to expand a GN roster.
On the rails, it provides dependable switching power with all-wheel drive, a refined five-pole motor with flywheels, and RP25 wheels for smooth operation. It uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) and a 21-pin NEM DCC connector for easy digital control; DC operation is supported, though some functions may be limited in DC mode. The GN variant adds authentic details like flexicoil trucks, a large fuel tank, frame-mounted handrails, MU hoses, and a beacon (which can flash in DC mode). Minimum radius is 18 inches, ensuring it runs well on typical HO layouts.
