Description
HO Scale Dreyfuss Streamlined Hudson Locomotive with DCC, 1938 New York Central 5448, reproduces Henry Dreyfuss’s streamlined J3a Hudson as used on the NYC’s famed 20th Century Limited. This HO model is designed for model railroad layouts and brings authentic period styling together with DCC-ready operation for sound, speed control, and lighting.
From Bachmann, the locomotive features a die-cast frame and boiler for durability, magnetically operated E-Z Mate II couplers, and a dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder for use with DCC or DC layouts. It delivers CD-quality audio via TCS WOWSound at 16-bit/44.1 kHz, includes a Keep Alive device to maintain motion through interruptions, and uses Chuffinity for load-based throttle effects. LED headlights with Rule 17 dimming, prototype-accurate Boxpok or Scullin drivers, and a voice-guided Audio Assist programming tool round out the package for easy setup and realistic operation.
