Description
This HO-scale USRA 0-6-0 locomotive with smoke and a short-haul tender, Northern Pacific 1052, is a versatile yard switcher and light freight locomotive for HO layouts. It captures the classic USRA design with a puffing smoke unit and an operating headlight to add realism during operating sessions.
Highlights include a precision motor and die-cast chassis, separately applied metal handrails, and a tender offered in three authentic configurations (Vanderbilt oil tender, short-haul coal tender, or slope-back switcher tender). The model features see-through drive wheels with spokes, blackened metal wheels, and a magnetically operated E-Z Mate II coupler on the tender rear. For modern layouts, the motor is electrically isolated for DCC decoder installation and the drivetrain remains completely hidden.
